hi. my recently purchased 88 4wd has incredible bed rust. i recently found a front hit 94 with 127k miles that i am trying to buy. i really want the engine. it is a short bed and my 88 extended cab is also a short bed. i measured everything and it looks like it will fit OK the question is are the mounts the same or will i have to fab up mounting points for it?

has anybody done this swap before?

You measured it but didn't look at the mounts??

1st and 2nd gen beds are interchangeble, and I'm pretty 2nd and 3rd are too.

no. its sitting in a foot of snow. i'm not THAT hardcore.
