My 95 4 Runner ignition switch won't move. Can't get it into the 'access' postion to be able to remove the cylinder. What can I do to remove the ignition switch????
Thanks

Thank you for the info---will try it. The manuals say it's in the column, but it's located to the right of the steering column. Poor ole girl has 253,xxx miles, so guess maybe it'll have a problem now and then.
Thanks

I recently had the exact same problem in my '94 Pickup. Yours shouldn't be that much different.

Here's the link:

I tried the "Hammer & Nail" method which allowed it to move, and used a punch to pound the pin and eventually was able to pry a screwdriver between the cylinder and the housing, and it popped out.

There is another piece that must stay down in the housing to release the steering wheel lock. When I put the new cylinder in a first installed it 180deg out - and the steering wheel locked when on not off.
