Ok so here's the deal, I recently bought a 97 celica gt convertible. I do not like convertibles, but I got it really cheap. The top leaks bad and I'm needing it for a daily. I have a friend that has a 95 celica st with a blown motor (think its a 1.8 but correct me if I'm wrong) its a 5 speed car and I was curious to know if I could swap my motor into this 95 without much issue? Wanting to keep the 5 speed tranny. Any issues I could look forward to?

Hmm, probably. They use the same blocks and same ignition system. You'll need the miners from the older gt. St mounts are different (smaller engine).

Engine has 4 mount points. Front and rear Connecting block to a cross member. Driver side connects wheel well to transmission. Passenger side is usually the very different might from year to year and engine models.
