95 yota sr5 runnin on 5

sry its a 91 sr5. i was thinking of something else. today a buddy of mine put his yota into a small pond and hydro locked the motor. well he took the plugs out and rolled the motor over and got all the water out and got it fired up. but when he got it started it made a really loud bang and started running on 5 cylinders. now when he says hes going down the road hes hearing a ticking when he lets off the gas but the puzzling thing is that the vitals of the motor are good. hes got excellent oil preasure and the volts are up there. and the check engine light isnt' on. so we are clueless on what it could be. our only thought was a bent valve.
