To any of the 97 Corolla people out there; do any of you have a cai on your set-up and if so is it custom or store bought? I am in the market for one and have been unsuccessful. Thanks in advance.

Keep it alive!
to make one actually work... you need to relocate the battery to the trunk

anyone who tells you that you don't need to, is giving you BS and is basically telling you to put your filter in the hottest area.... near the exhaust manifold....

97 corolla = E10? sorry but i beg to disagree. its just a matter of being creative. I've seen it done.:)

but you're right... you have to make one. ;)
All the Gen7s I have seen have short ram intakes...
Cool. Thanks. Who sells the short rams?
They have them for sale on ebay for about $16-$18. Just put a K&N air filter at the end and you will be good to go.:D
Cool I'll check that. It would be nice to find a custom cai though
i'll try to take pictures of CAI's done here in the PI... :)

That would be great thanks.
here's a RAM CAI done one of our friends from the south...

although the car's an AE92, we've done something similar to AE101's (and i'm working on mine, although i am moving my battery to the trunk - but that's because the battery i'm using is 1 size bigger than stock/OEM). the point is you have to find a way to move your battery off to the side a bit for the tube to have a clear path throught the headlight

we've also done a CAI where the intake gets air from the hole next to the left fender... i'm still looking for pix for this one. :)

hths.
Whoa. Now thats definitely some custom work their. I'd like to see dynos from a ram cai set-up as opposed to a custom cai set-up. I hope you can come across some regular cai pics so I can see the two, but that one above is straight!

i have a pic but i havn't uploaded it yet. i'll post it up as soon as i am able to. :)
as promised...
here's another custom CAI job...
its installed in an AE101. the battery here has already been relocated... but the set-up will still work with the standard battery in the factory location. :)

hope this helps. ;)
VERY nice. Thanks. Just out of curiosity, any pics of th cone in the wheel well?
if i'm not mistaken, they didn't put a cone filter at the wheelwell. its an open air intake similar to the ram air i posted earlier. but if its a matter of putting one, i'm thinking it should be an easy task. you'd just need the proper materials to increase the size of the tube's outer diameter so that you could clamp on the tube filter. :)
Sounds good, thanks for all the pics and info.
