Took car out to get gas an after 2 miles the check engine light came on and it hesitated and sputtered, especially at low rpm. I figured it was relly low on gas, but it took only 9 gallons at the station. I put in some dry gas as I thought it might have had some condensation in the tank. I drove another 10 miles, but it ocntinued to do the same thing. It is really noticeable from 1st gear. As i get up to speed and keep the rpm's high, it drives o.k., but still hesitates as you slow down in the gears. Fuel pum problem? Excess water in the tank? Not sure, but it sounds like a fuel pronlem to me. What do you guys think? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The first thing to do is to scan your car with a OBD2 scan tool.

Did the problem appeared before ?

My 97 Tercel is doing the exact same thing. Im trying to find out the fix. Isnt there a way to short out the diagnostics box and have the numbers flash on the dash screen?
