Okay so as stated I have a 1999 Avalon with an automatic transmission. The selector is stuck in the park position. I have simply tried to depress the brake and shift, use the shift lock override button without and with the parking brake on. Is there any solution to even get the car moving to get it to a dealer or shop? Or even a quick fix check to see what the problem could be?

You mentioned the override button, so you know the procedure shown in the owner's manual to deal with the problem.

Are you parked on a slope?

STOP LIGHT SWITCH UNDER DASH MAY NEED ADJUSTING OR IS DEFECTIVE.

Indeed, do your brake lights work? Also, when in park and the ignition on, when the brake is depressed a noticeable (for me atleast) click is heard. Fuse, relay, possible problems. Try wiggling wires under the dash! (I'm super crazy, I know!)

Isnt there a location on the bottom of the transmission to pop the car into neutral? Not sure if this will help though!

u can unhook the cable at the tranny and manually put it in neutral. there is a fuse that controlls your issue. not sure what one but its under the hood. i had a land cruiser do the same thing. also are you sure you are pressing the override button all the way cause that should work to shift gears even with a bad fuse.
