You should be able to follow the instructions in the installation manual, as long as you can find and identify the appropriate wires, and recognize either positive or negative trigger. It will take at least 4 hours to do only because there's a lot of wires, but not all will be used. Just plan it out beforehand, and you should be fine. PM me if you need a wire identification code, I can still get to DEI's technical information guide. ;)

BTW, can you hook me up with a 939-pin FX53 CPU? :D ;)
Be careful, toyota use negative trigger, but alot websites advise that they are positive, ran into this problem with lights.
If you have aol instant messenger then add installsupport to your buddylist email me for more info. I have an Autopage RS-750 LCD and I installed it twice and another LCD on another camry. it's fairly simple. I have not run into any problems. On your first try prepare at least 5 hours or more.
thanks for the posts guys.. ill probably pick up the alarm on friday .. im headed out of town saturday, i dont know if im going to try to get it in or not.. either way ill let you know how it goes or if i run into any probs.
hey there guys, i just got the VIPER 560 installed today, and have encountered a problem. the remote start will not enguage. the motor wants to crank to start but will not, it sound slike there is a starter kill or imoblizer on my camry its a 1997 LE so i dont know what it comes equipted with. can you please let me know what i can do. thanks
Just as I had thought. For '97, there is NO immobilizer bypass, that started with '98 models. Have you checked the battery to make sure there's enough CCA? Since you're in SoCal, I doubt cold weather could be a problem. You may have to relearn the tachometer voltage.
thanks for the info, how would i go about doing that, the relearn thing, can i do it my self, or should i take it in, i would prefer to do it, if its easy, but not, then ill just take it in,
thanks for the help
If you have the installation manual, it will tell you. Otherwise, I believe this is how it goes: turn on car, within 5 seconds, press and hold down the valet button until the LED status light comes on, release the button, and it should have learned the tachometer sense. If that doesn't work, then you should just have the shop fix the problem.
knee bolster removal

Dear Camry gurus, a stupid question from a guy who has just bought a 2000 Camry CE. I purchased an UNGO remote starter and tried to install it today, but met a problem: I failed to remove the knee bolster. Chilton's book says: 'remove the two bolts and...', but I can see only one screw, the other one looks like is hidden under the plastic panel that covers the threshold. I have no idea how to remove it - there are no any screws that hold that panel, and book says nothing about it. It is also not clear to me how to remove hood-release lever and how to release its cord . If anybody has done it already, please explain to stupid Ph. D. how to remove those panels without destroing my car interior. Please take into account that I've bought this car for my wife . Thank you very much, svb2000.
If you have done so, follow these steps.

1) Remove the door sill strip panel.
2) Remove the kickpanel
3) Remove one Philips screw on lower right, remove one 10mm bolt on lower left of the lower hush panel.
4) Remove two Philips screws holding the hold release bracket.
5) Pull lower panel out.
6) Remove two (may be four) 10mm (12mm?) bolts holding the metal brace.

For the cord on the hood release, once the bracket is released from the panel, use pliers to pull the cable out a bit and turn so that cylindrical hook will slide out through the slits.

Pile high Deep, huh? I only have More $xxt. :D
click on this, Mweow!!! click on tutorial to get idea
Thanks a lot Luc!
Oh man, belive me it is much easier to understand quantum electrodynamics then Camry assembly :disappoin

When you say 'remove' you mean 'just pop it up', or I have to locate some hidden lock/bolt/screw/$xxt first?
Yes, the door sill panel will pop up, with a bit of force. Don't worry about the rubber weatherstrip that comes up if the clip doesn't detach from the panel. You can detach it later and just put the clips back, and you'll see the protrusion left from the clips. There's a black plastic screw that holds down the kickpanel, so make sure you twist that off first, then it will pop out towards the center of the car.
hey LUC you lived in Houston b4?

Nope, I've lived in Chicago all my life since 1980. I've only stopped by Houston to visit the Space Center a long time ago. :)
