The timing chain in my car sounds really loud.I took the valve cover off,and the chain seems really loose between the cam sprockets.Plus the top of the chain is shiny in spots.Like its rubbing somewhere.

I was thinking about changing the tensioner to see if it helps. before doing a complete timing kit.Are there any issues I should be aware of.Or is it just an easy in and out.

It lookslike the previous owner didnt worry about changing the oil very often.Thought it may affect the tensioner.

Any advice.

I really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
