hello, my name is Brian and i'm proud owner of a 2006 ZZE131 Toyota Corolla Xrs. i'm a big Toyota enthusiast, but my favorite car overall would be the legendary Corolla. i have owned/driven 5 Corollas of 3 generations. one 3rd gen TE72 wagon, a 7th gen AE102 sedan and two 9th gen ZZE130 CE's. i'm also a member of *************.com and 8thCivic.com (know thy enemy :naughty:). i haven't done anything to the Xrs since i bought the car last september, but i do have plans for it. i just need some extra cash. but the car is wicked fast, compared to the 1ZZ equiped Corollas. and driving an Xrs is more original than opting for a Civic Si. a fine car but highly overated. anyways, i hope you welcome my presence here and i hope i learn a lot on other Toyota models.

Hello There! Welcome to TN! I have a quick question for you... does your XRS require 91 octane? Will it run on regular? A friend of mine believes that it will run fine on 87, but might have issues on 87 if you push the engine.
91 HIGH OCTANE ONLY!!!

it's a high compression engine unlike the 1ZZ. it's a "G" head.
Too bad... gas is only gonna get more $$$ I guess I should look more towards an S with a 5-speed because I like the styling of the XRS.
you planing to get a used 9thgen or a new 10thgen?
Used 9th Gen. probably 05-07 year
Used 9th Gen. probably 05-07 year
XRS was only available for 05-06 for the Corolla (and 09).

I meant an 05-06 'S' model. XRS is out due to requiring 91 Octane.
If you think about it, it's only like $2.00 more a tankful for 91...
welcome! the 9th gen XRS rolla is a blast to drive...
i love running the hell out of that 2zz-ge....
throw up some pics of your rolla!
Yes... that was definitely worth posting in a year-old thread.

Jeff
wow, has it been a year?
