Hello,

I have a few questsions regarding my 2000 Echo.

A) I have 182K on it now, how much longer do you think this is going to last? Anyone have more then that on a 2000 or newer?

B) My Cat Converter went out, I live in CA and the dealer is saying it is going to cost me 1K for a new one. I have found a re-man. cat but no warrenty unless I can show that a shop has done a recent tune up but I do all that myself. Anyone know how hard a new cat is to install?

Thanks.

Also, how much does a new engine cost? Any ideas?
I can't believe you have that many miles on your car! Have you had any major problems with the car other than the cat-converter?
Wow, that's a lot of miles! May want to check EchoFans.net, there are plenty of high mile owners there.
No problems except the brakes go out about every 30-35K.

Other then that, everything is running good (knock on wood)
Wow, I thought I read that wrong. Where are you driving everyday? Your poor car!

just go to a reputable exhuast shop and have them install a cat for you. around here in cali L.A. they charge from 55-90$ parts and labor.
