Hey All, I'm new to this forum. I just purchased a 94 Camry with only 130k original on it. My question is has anyone evr bought an aftermarket header for a 2.2 Cel and made it work on a Camry?
Thanks in advance.

Hi: You want to put a header on an engine with this many miles? Anyway, I don't think some if anybody has done this. It would make more sense to step up to the V-6 if power is what they would desire.

130k on a 19 year old Camry isn't even broken in. This car runs like a champ. It was well taken care of and I bought it 3 weeks ago for less than $700.00. Why would I want to go to the expense of putting a v-6 in it? I was just wondering if it could be done to improve my gas mileage.
Thanks for your reply.

Hit up N/A Camry Sleeper. I think he has done this. IIRC he had to pound in the runner for the #1 cylinder to clear the alternator.

FYI there is a lot of potential in these little four bangers, again N/A Camry Sleeper has done a lot of research on all motor power for these motors. Rapeacivic has a turbo 5SFE in his car. As far as mileage goes, I have just over 230,000 on my wagon and beat it like it owes me money everyday of the week. My wife's car went to 331,000 on the original motor and would still be running it if her brother hadn't "borrowed" the car and not checked fluids.

The single biggest piece of advice though is to ensure the motor is tip top with no leaks before you start playing with it. :)

I had a 90 Cel GT that had 285,000 on it when it went to the boneyard and the only reason was the body started to disintegrate and it wasn't worth fixing anymore. drivetrain was still great. What a pocket rocket for a stock Cel. Only reason I got rid of it was I ended up with an 87 Supra that I had a love affair with for 7 years.
