Minnesota currently has a grant for the "Safe and Sober" program. This program is paying for more cops to be put on the road. But their goal is not that of normal duty cops. They are not to resond to calls. Their job is to watch for drunks, and people commiting safety violations. One of them being not wearing a seat belt.
Police officers are now out there gunning for you. They are watching ever car and every person. Speeding will be more closely monitored. This is used as probable cause to find anything else they might on your person at the time.
Form personal experience, I was driving home from work today and saw 4 different stops, in progress. One of which was even a semi truck. Besides that, I saw 7 cops on one strech of highway.
Specific highways that you should use caution include, hwy 94, hwy 494/694, and mainly 35E. 35E is one of the most monitored. Main focus between Mendota Hights and the Saint Paul Area.
So watch out. (Thank god I have a cop for a step-father
