I have a Toyota Corolla Verso R1, from 2008. It is a 7 seat car, gasoline engine. The brakes are in otherwise fine condition, I have never had any indication that they are failing or not working properly.
But when the car is almost stopped, the ABS activates (in any weather condition). The local repair shop isn't very interested in taking in the car - I have a feeling they are overworked and not familiar this problem. There are no warning lights on the dashboard.
Is it good enough to drive without fixing it? What is an estimate of how large an operation it would be to repair?
I didn't know this car even existed, would be a great car to swap a faster motor in, as far as abs, are you positive its not just the abs doing its job? Has barke fluid, pads and rotors been serviced ?
Hi, Just posting to see if anyone else has this problem. I have an 02 Tundra TRD w/ 45k miles on it. Lately when I come to a stop at slow speeds my ABS activates. I have the original brakes on the truck. Bryan
Hello, I just had new cv axles installed on my '93 Camry. The first set did not have abs teeth and so I got the abs light and read the codes stating circuit interruption on both right and left. I had the correct cv half shafts installed. Since the install, whenever I come to a stop, just prior...
So I just put a 2002 v6 awd on the road yesterday and am working out all the bugs. Usually slowing down around 15 mph the abs will activate. Vibrating hard pedal combined with abs noises but no lights. I have pulled the abs fuse so it's drivable I'm just curious if anyone else has has the...
ABS activation just before you come to a stop is an indication that a wheel speed sensor is dropping out. If you have a scan tool you should be able to see which sensor is dropping out.
Do the easiest things first.
Put the car on jackstand.
Remove all four wheels.
Remove one wheel sensor.
Clean the sensor tips of iron filings.
Clean the sensor mounting hole surface from rust build up.
Go to the next wheel and do the same for all the remaining wheels.
Test drive.
