If you haven't cleared the codes yet, here's how to read them.My 1999 Camry ABS light came on. Not sure what that means but don't have a lot of money and wonder what the problem may be and any cheap fixes.
Yes, that will work. But if you're seeing an open circuit across the sensor leads, odds are about 99.999% they're bad. And you're probably correct about how they got damaged. If they're not careful when they're pulling the struts out, and they push the rear suspension down too far, the cable gets broken.I'm looking for a way to test the system with out a scanner. The flash codes maybe?
I pulled the flash code which I read as "38" and looked it up. It showed it to be the right rear speed sensor circuit open. The shop ordered a new sensor, I put it in since they were really busy, then re-read the code. Still shows 38, but I also see a 39 (left rear sensor cirduit) I probably miss read it the first time and really had both circuits open to begin with. The new sensor shows 1700 ohms accross the leads, both the old sensors are open. Don't know if the shop will go for another $175 sensor, but it looks like they broke both sensor cables. Still need to clear the right side though.Yes, that will work. But if you're seeing an open circuit across the sensor leads, odds are about 99.999% they're bad. how do i get to the abs lines to test the abs sensor? I’m being told with my 2000 camry it’s not simple as jack it upSpeed sensor could of have been damaged during replacement.
If that is the case it is a very cheap and easy fix.
