We have all seen the rails that people have on double cabs, but what about us access cab guys? All I have seen are the OEM and Westin ones. I know this can't be right.

So for those with access cabs, let me see your step rails.

You talking sliders/steps like those nfab ones or regular tubes?

I got the MAAP tubes from Cabelas, ditched the mounting brackets because they hung down too far and mounted them directly to the frame.
I don`t do much rock crawling, most of my grinding is done over waterbars on skid trails and logs and I wanted something to stand on to get to the roof/windshield and for kids/dogs getting in and out etc.

Oh btw...running boards suck if you go off road a lot

Mine are made by T-Rex Motorsports (http://www.trexmotorsports.com/). I wasn't a big fan of getting them, but my fiancee is fairly short and really wanted them. Now that I have them they do come in handy and they definitely protect the paint on the side of the truck from rocks/road debris and they work great at deflecting car doors in parking lots.

I absolutely hate tube steps or step rails. No offense.... I had a set on my 96 tacoma. They were cool back then - but now, they just don't interest me at all.

I've love to see some square tube rock sliders that can be used as a step. I like being able to step on them the entire length of the truck.

The N-Fab's are cool but I've yet to see any pcitures of them on access cabs. Anyone?

Did quick searching...lots of companies that make sliders (not necessarily in any type of order)

There are more...I just ran out of patience to look...didn't see many square tubers though...

pretty much the same thing except in stainless

btw, I like yours, black looks good on the Indigo. I`ve thought about powdercoating mine blue.......hmmmmmmm

You have a sweet truck. I'm not feeling the tail lights, but its still pretty cool.

I'm gonna get Nfabs. I was under the impression they weren't made for the Access Cabs, since they are thats what I'm getting. Thanks for the help guys!

I just sent NFab an e-mail asking them if it was possible to make a continous step the whole way front to back on their bars..... They'd probably charge an arm/leg for 'em. Who knows.
We'll see if they respond.
If you send it to the CEO Thomas Fichter he will definitely respond, and in detail. I have had a great exchange with him (and Missy) about some hardware question. They are quick to respond and they do what they say. I cannot praise them enough. Here is his e-mail:

As for the full length step you want: one of the reasons (minor) I did not like the OEM running boards (or any for that matter) was how they scrape against leg when exiting. And thus, one of the great things about the n-fab nerf steps is that the step is exactly where you need it when climbing in, but, since it is only a step and not a full length thing, it is not in the way when you climb out, if like me you just put your left foot on ground when exiting and do not use the step. The step is nowhere near where your left foot goes when exiting and thus no scrape/interference. All minor points but they are factors.

Good luck with your search for what you seek. Thanks

Thanks! I'll wait and see if anyone responds.....and go from there.

That's a great point about hitting them when you step out - as they probably stick out a lot farther than a typical rock slider that I've had previously on my 96.

Are those the Aries Black Nerf Bars that are off the Trex website?

No, mine are made by T-Rex....oddly though they only have the stainless ones listed on their website right now (http://www.trexmotorsports.com/ebproductdetail.asp?id=66&trex_category=11&headertext=Nerf+Bars). I notice that the stainless ones are back-ordered right now, so I am guessing the same goes with the black ones. Give em a call or shoot them an email if you are interested...I know they make them and they are priced very well. I am guessing they are having problems keeping up with demand for them at the moment so they probably removed the black ones until they get more of them in stock.
