I have a 2022 SE AWD and can give you my thoughts.
Specific to the AWD, I would say it works very well. I don't notice anything in the driving characteristics of the car that would differentiate it from any non-AWD car. It handles fairly well and the steering is tight, accurate, and easy to drive. The grip is very good but it does get the expected body roll if you push it in the roundabouts. I have Blizzaks on extra rims (17") for the winter and I don't worry about the weather. I can go down county roads that haven't been plowed that have 4" of snow as long as I'm not blazing the trail. It probably would do that but ground clearance would be my concern. It is very stable on slippery roads and the traction control works very well. I don't find any need to disable it and I don't spin on the slippery stuff.
I can get over 40 mpg at 72 mph on the interstate. I average 32-33 commuting to work, to the gym, grocery shopping, etc. in the summer. It drops to 26 in the winter. I live 11 miles from work and it takes me 14 minutes to get there.
I will say one thing that always causes debate is cabin noise. I can tell you for my car, if I'm on old surfaces it is pretty noisy. It is especially noticeable if I'm on concrete with the grooves perpindicular to the direction of travel. New asphalt, or surprisingly, concrete with the grooves in the direction of travel makes the car pretty quiet. A definate contrast of experiences so pay attention when you test drive. The engine is noisy when getting up to speed but not bad after getting there.
The infotainment system is pretty dated but it does work as it is supposed to. I haven't had any glitches but there are a few annoying things about it. The heated steering wheel is only heated on the sides.
The car does what I bought it for and looks pretty good. If I was buying today I'd be looking hard for a Maverick because with my driving routine I would probably get a little better average MPG and be able to haul my dirt bike, bicycles, etc. without having to use my F150.
