After a week with my new gen3.5...

Well it went on the road last Wed., and my gen2 was sold to a local Hispanic gentleman the day after that. Generally, I'm understating it when I say I'm very pleased with the car. It's lightyears ahead of my old gen2.

Everything is good so far, but I noticed a few things...

1. I don't think the original owners ever replaced the trans fluid. Shifting can be pretty hard, where I could put the gen2 in 1st at 10 mph (even before the synchromesh) with no problem, you can't do it half the time at a stop in this one. So the gen3 gets synchromesh too:D *the car has a little over 153k on it

2. We all know this one- #@(^%~' rear swaybar bushings are makin' noise lol...

3. When I push the clutch in to engage Second (mostly just 2nd, btw) the car jerks. I suspect the clutch needs to be bled? It only happens on the 1-2 shift... The clutch itself doesn't slip or hang up if that means anything.

4. Just some other myriad shit that needs to be done on a higher-mileage car left, e.g. brakes all the way around...

I'm loving the hell out of my gen3.5... next things I have planned are a new stereo (good thing I've got a friend at a Sony factory outlet lol) and an Ebay short-ram. I saw the thread about the gen4 TRD shortshifter in the gen3 and may do that next year... but for now my main plan is to keep the car in good running condition and do a little work to it here and there.

yup...still haven't gotten this problem fixed yet, since they told me they had to be special ordered from toyota.

Special order? Wtf? They're common wear items, that's a little surprising... my dad's dealership usually has some on hand, for example
