Aftermarket sunroof in SR5

I have an '02 Sequoia SR5 and would really like to cut a sunroof into it. The roof currently has that large plastic bank of 5 storage bins - and I only have one pair of sunglasses. Anyone try to remove this and cut in a sunroof? What's under that plastic piece anyway - will I need to follow up with some upholstery work?

I have never heard of anyone every having good luck with an aftermarket sunroof... thay all eventially leak
