I guess it's pretty minor damage, my dad was driving and got rea- ended. Apparently the guy hit the muffler as well, and I believe this crushed the flex pipe a bit. Insurance is covering everything since it wasn't our fault. The guys car was mashed, the hood flipped up majorly and he had to get his car towed....

Only good thing is that we already had some damage on the bumper from before....

Its good that insurace is paying the full bill, and the damage doesnt look bad. But still, its incidents like this that make me want to replace my rear bumper with protruding sharpened steel spikes.

That's terrible Silver... Sorry to hear it.

Traffic accidents are one of those inevitable things. No matter how great of a driver you may be, there's just no level to which you can compensate for other drivers' driving skills, or lack thereof.

As mentioned above, I hope this other fool gets royally screwed by his insurance company. He deserves it for rear-ending a Camry!!

The guys an idiot. We didn't even want to go through insurance even though it's no fault, so we gave him the choice to pay for it. He goes forget it, just make a claim....:hammer:

ouch! sorry to hear it. But the fact that the other guys car got damaged way more than yours shows how solid camrys are. Looks like the bumper will have to be replaced... is that what they're doing? And what are they going to do about the muffler?

that's a whole new exhuast system even the headers cause you know those were bent in some way. wow. i would make sure they ghange the stuff behind the bumper also. they usually son't do that.

Yea, it was some stupid Accord driver...and actually he was a white man. But I agree, the older chinese drivers suck big time in my area...this is NOT HK...traffic laws do apply!!!

We'll be getting it checked out fully tomorrow actually, and we're making sure that the whole exhaust system is all good.

I feel your pain. Last September, some girl did the same thing to my 98. New bumper, exhaust tip, and about $300 to fix the damage to my spare tire well. (she had a small car, and went under my bumper because she was braking so hard. Week in the shop. I had to drive a Saturn L-Series. A L-Series for crying out loud. It was the longest week of my life.

After it all, I guess I should feel lucky. $1000 for mine, hers cost $50 to tow to a junk yard because it was totaled.

Just pick a shop you know and trust. Don't listen to their insurance company, it is your choice where you fix it. Mine tried to send me to some crappy shop who could not guarantee a perfect paint matching. I told them that it was their client who screwed up MY car, I get to chose who fixes it. (Its a WI law). After a few not so nice calls, they agreed.
