The airbag light keeps on blinking on my 2001 avalon... Anyone have any idea as how to fix this problem.... And would this issue prevent the airbag from deploying during an accident..

Any help will appreciated..
Thanks in anvance.

If I were in your shoes (or driver's seat!) I would take it in to the dealership. That's an error that needs to be looked at.
The blinking light means the SRS system has a problem and is not working. A trouble code(s) have been stored. Go to some place like AutoZone and have them download the trouble codes. Keep in mind the airbag system is not working!
My son just picked up a Tacoma Pre-runner , and His airbag light keeps blinking.
I have a OBDII scanner and it is not throwing ANY codes.

If memory serves me correctly, OBDII codes don't reflect airbag troubles just as I think, also don't show ABS errors either. An error code will disable VSC or TRAC control though. You will need to get your hands on a Toyota diagnostic tool or go to a dealer for that problem.
