I'm a new owner of a 2012 TCH and have the HDD Nav with the 10 speaker JBL system. I was looking inside the trunk and I can clearly see a speaker on the driver side but there's no speaker on the passenger side. What's strange is that there are speaker grills on both driver and passenger sides of the rear deck but only the driver's side has a speaker mounted. Is this normal or did Toyota forget to install a speaker on the passenger side?

Looking thru manuals, can't find info RE: speakers.

Looking at car pricing sticker, it says "10 JBL GreenEdge Speakers in 8 Locations including Subwoofer and Amplifier".

Go figure!

By the way, I thought I have DVD but it doesn't play DVD, no video, only sound comes out.

I did some more research and found this link regarding our JBL 10 speaker system:
http://www.jbl.com/toyota/camry

Front dash Left = 2 speakers in one
Center dash = 1 speaker
Front dash Right = 2 speakers in one
Front Door Driver = 1 sub woofer
Front Door Passenger = 1 sub woofer
Rear Deck Driver side (small grill) = 1 small speaker
Rear Deck Driver side (large grill) = 1 sub woofer (web site shows mounted in middle of trunk area but I guess Toyota mounted it on driver side)
Rear Deck Passenger side (small grill) = 1 small speaker
Rear Deck Passenger side (large grill) = empty space

Total = 10 speakers

I guess that solves my question of where all the speakers are

OZ, you OK? You have to press parking brake to play DVD?
Okay, I feel better now so let me rephrase what I meant RE: the DVD.

The audio portion will always play, driving or parked. The video portion will however not show on screen unless you're parked AND parking brake pressed.

Toyota wanted to make sure you weren't trying to watch Glee Season 2 while driving, get in an accident and blame the gas pedal.

And in case you were wondering, it was mostly Maui Waui but it's got some Labrador in it.

cheers.

Just checked and I have 2 rear speakers mounted left and right....:)
Based on the JBL site, I'm going to guess you do not have the JBL 10 speaker greenedge system. On my rear deck, I have 4 physical speaker grills (2 small ones and 2 larger ones) There are speakers in the small grills (can't see them from inside the trunk) and one larger speaker on the left side only. Based on the JBL web site, there will only be one subwoofer in the trunk area with the greenedge system.

Wow, I really wanted that upgrade (to JBL) but felt tapped out with all the other stuff.

I have the XLE with the lesser system and the 6.1" screen and I have six speakers.

Sheesh, I wish I knew what they called this "package." I have the leather interior, heated seats, sunroof, back-up camera, etc.

In short, I have everything but the Blind-spot mirror, HDD Navigation and the JBL system.

Anyone know what this "package" is called???

It's not actually a package. When you get the HDD Nav, Toyota also adds the options for JBL greenedge, Blind Spot Monitor, etc. IDK if you can special order but all the XLE's out here in Northern CA that have HDD, also have everything else.

Here's what toyota web site show's when you select HDD Nav:
Premium HDD Navigation with Entune™ and JBL®, and Blind Spot Monitor and Safety Connect with Additional Options $6,320

(AY) Includes Emergency Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Locator, Roadside Assistance and Automatic Collision Notification. Available by subscription. Complimentary one-year trial subscription.
(BD) Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)
(CQ) Smart Key System on front doors and trunk with Push Button Start and remote illuminated entry.
(FE) 50 state emissions
(LA) Leather-trimmed multi-stage heated front seats with seatback pockets; 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support; 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat.
(NV) Premium HDD Navigation [6] with Entune™ [7] and JBL® - includes 7-in. touch-screen with split-screen capability, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, ten JBL® GreenEdge™ speakers in eight locations including subwoofer and amplifier, SiriusXM Satellite Radio [8] capability (includes three-month trial subscription to XM Select Package), HD Radio™ [9] with iTunes® Tagging, [10] auxiliary audio jack, USB [2] port with iPod® [3] connectivity and control, vehicle information with customizable settings, and hands-free phone capability, phone book access, advanced voice recognition and music streaming via Bluetooth® [5] wireless technology
(SR) Power tilt/slide moonroof one-touch open/close with jam protection

I don't know if it's a package.. Ours has the same options - below are the option codes for the one you'd mentioned..

We have CQ (convenience package) which has the backup camera/homelink/anti theft..
LA, the leather package
SR, power tilt/slide moonroof
EX, Display audio (6.1 screen and the speakers) w/Nav and Entune
