i have a 93 p/u and i have 191,234 miles on it and i know it should last a lot longer but i was wondering how many miles everyone else has? the main reason is that i dont want to do anything expensive if it might break.

it all depends on how it was maintained and driven. mine had 200k when we swapped to a donor to rebuild the original. now im building the donor up to have a spare with a little more of a kick. ive seen them with 350 k and even more but they were granpa trucks that were well maintained. ive also seen them ragged out with black oil with 300 plus k miles. depends really.

Mines a '91 with a hair over 105K. She's just a baby 22RE and this was the main reason why I bought it. I will probably pass this truck down like an heirloom to my kids.

Conversely, The Jeep I that my Yota replaced was purchased brand new in '97 and went through two axles, the rearend, the tranny, the oil pump and was pissing fluids all over my driveway by 90K.

You'll do OK with your Yota. Just take care of her and she'll reciprocate

my 93 v6 is about to roll on the 232,000 mark.... it runs alright after it gets warmed up, but its definitely lost a lot of power over the years and isnt the smoothest. all i really need it for is to get back and forth to work though, i have another car that im trying to get done by may.

I had an '84 4Runner with 245,000 miles on it that never gave me a moment of trouble.
Youve got a looooong way to go before you need to worry about expensive repairs.
Change the oil every 3,000 miles and it'll run forever.

I have a 89 with 129,000. I don't think any maintenece was done, I just changed out a bunch of basics, belts, plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor, and set the timing/ The EGR was fouled up, so I replaced it too.
It runs great now, we'll see how many miles I get.

Mines a 91 with 218,960 ++ miles. The speedometer cable broke, and it wasnt replaced for a couple months. :) There is a guy at my local dealer who has a truck with well over 500,000 miles, and runs like a champ.

I hate to make everyone jealous, but my '92 (22R-E, 2WD) that I bought new has just 70K miles on it.

I plan to keep it for many more years. When I get too old for my motorcycles, I plan to put a mini-camper on the P/U and drive 'er until the wheels fall off!

I have a 196k here are the problems I can list I've had so far.

Valve cover gasket failure.
Starter motor failure.
Clutch worn out.
Exhaust rusted out.

For almost 13 years and 200k miles, I consider that to be a pretty clean record.

I bought my 93 V-6 new, at 40,000 it had the headgaskets done, at 160,00 it had headgaskets done again, rings , bearings, and a valve job, now 230,00o head gaskets again, also a clutch and alternator in between. Plan to drive it forever, especially with the cost of a new truck these days.

as long as my truck doesnt fall apart, and when i get a new tranny (think its screwed up by the same guy) this engine will last forever. i hope to have my truck for a lot longer, maybe even pass it on to my kids, if i ever have any!

wow, I neveer imagined that these toys could live as long as you all state. I guess me 136K is still rather new then. Makes me feel alot better. This little 4 banger must have some life left in it,HuH? I was debating when I bought it because I thought it had too many. Must be some well engineered engines.

woofer, I just bought an 89 with 130,000, and I was happy to find one with so few miles.
There was one on ebay with 410,000 that went for 3,500+. We have a long way to go, just follow the maintenece schedule ( I am especially wanting to follow the 4x4 schedule) and they migh last a long long time.
