I received mine on Saturday. I was able to get screen mirroring in portrait mode on a Nexus 7 yesterday afternoon. I was able to sideload Android Auto on it last night and will try to check it again this afternoon and let you know.

Wireless Apple CarPlay adapter + Wired Android Auto...

Unless my eyes are screwed up, the screen shots of the mirrored screen from your Note don't look as bad as you describe it to be.

The wireless part for carplay works but there is a 1-2 second delay or lag. You tap on maps, two seconds later it responds. It's bad for android auto though..
