OK, what ones have you looked at so far ?
lol...sorry. i was talking about the threads of lifting. i more or less just search and look at all of them...so many i really cant decide and dont know, say, the past of them. so it led me to this thread
600 is going to be kinda hard to be honest unless you make stuff yourself, like you can hybrid build a rear pack out of some other leafs.. People mix in F150 leafs, 85's, some aftermarket stuff and end up with 2" of lift..

What you could do if you just want a bit of lift is run longer shackles, pop another few leafs in the pack, get ball joint spacers and call it a day.. Should be 1.5~ lift easily.

Maybe throw in a 1" body just for some extra tire clearance..
Often with the 600$ lift you are going to be getting just a block in the back and not a new leaf spring.
i would like around 4inch lift....i thot a block in the back is the cheapest way to do it, and not a good way.

so ball joint spacers are a front lift system?? how are they...are they a cheap lift like blocks??

how about this http://suspensionliftkit.net/4wheelproducts/Products.aspx?CategoryId=85611&ProductId=226599

need help getting u bolt nuts off....any ideas......pb'd it, tryed loosening rust with hammer and smacking....broke long wall socket with pry bar pipe....
http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/toyota4_86_96.htm

Compare the rough country and skyjacker.

I would say no, blocks are not the way to go.:)

pb over night and get an impact gun on it...
so the rough country is a simple block lift in rear. and more or less just a front setup.......the rough country has replacement leaf springs for rear(much better) and the front setup???? is this correct?

also...what is the diff between the kit and setup prices?
pb over night and get an impact gun on it...
i have pb"d it 2 nights in a row and my impact gun wont take it off....i dont think my compressor is big enough.....120 psi max i beleive

i beleive im gonna have to try and heat them up
Get new u-bolts. Don't reuse them unless they are pretty new. Its not worth it.
i just woke up for work and told my self.....cut them damn things....my god, why didnt i think of that b4...i can pinch myself over this...

thanks jayota....there even so cheap..and im tryin to make a cleaner look of everything.....

springs are comin off today....if i can just think of what im gonna do now with the rear
I was in same position when I did my lift. Its worth getting new ones. By the time you couldve undid one side you can be done :)
cut the u bolts 2nite....boy they were under some pressure even with the axle on support....

SITUATION #2 - cant get the shackle pins out. top mount pin wants to come out but the bottom one doesnt want to budge....i think the rubber bushings are holding them up....smacked them with a mull and no movementah.

anybody else have trouble with this? solutions???

i think im gonna go with add a leaf in the rear with longer shackles...
what do i do in the front that is similar and in price??? i am not as knowledged with a front lift as i am (minor) with a rear.....i def need some help on this one......

what is the worst, generic way to lift the front??...something that is looked upon like throwing 4" blocks in the back?? this is what i DO NOT want to do.

thanks
Try soaking them in penetrate. How do the bushings look? Might be time to replace them.

If all else fails, torch em out :D

As for lift, how much you looking for? Bj spacers can give you between .5-1.5" of lift and clearance. After that you can find an oldschool rancho 3" lift, or buy a $500 4" bracket lift.
i would like around a 3-4 in lift but if it involves spending 800-1000 right now ill prob passon that height...without doing a body lift....ill settle for 2-3.....

i really need alot of imput on this becasue today im try to get these shackle pins out and thats my next step....i can only see the ends of the bushings cause i cant bets the pins out.

what is an oldschool 3" rancho lift involve...how much
a 4" bracket lift with rear blocks is about $550, with rear leaves is more around $700.

Bj spacers, rear shackles or aal and a small body lift (with new shocks) would probably run you around $550 or so.

Im pretty sure the pins in the shackle dont come out but i might be wrong.

Those oldschool lifts use new upper control arms and a diff drop. They are very hard to find.
Why don't you run ball joint spacers, Longer shackles, and a 1" lift block and a ubolt flip kit?

Why go higher than that?

that would put my front up about an 1" and the rear about 4"....wouldnt it

Jayota+ what is a 4" bracket lift? is this for the front or rear. im assuming the rear?

im thinking bj spacers. torsion bars in front.....aal in rear with new shocks going around
iv read that an aftermarket torsion bar is a waste though....is this right or worth purchasing one that can stand the cranking?

these adds should make a cheap 2" lift i beleive??

Jayota+ what is a 4" brakcet lift? is this for the front or rear. im assuming the rear

You're front would go up around 1.5" (depending what size spacer you buy and if you adjust the torsion bars at all). As for the rear, a 2" longer shackle and 1" block would give you around 2" of rear lift.

A bracket lift is any run-of-the-mill 4" suspension lift that are available for our trucks (they are all pretty much the same besides some optional braces and coatings). The "bracket" in bracket lift refers to the big bracket you install that lowers the front differential and lower control arms 4".

these kinda lifts don't really provide any more travel, they simply space the stock suspension down. As for the rear, most of these kits come with 4" rear lift blocks but some can be had with real lift springs. They are what you want. Avoid lift blocks over an inch on tired leaf springs.

Iprefer BJ spcars, body lift and new rear leaf springs (im going with 63" chevy springs)

Try taking a look at the FAQ/stickie sections at the top of the forum.
