Just wondering if anyone has this setup for the rear of their taco, and how they ride. Also how long are they? I think they come in 10 and 14 inches, and wondering which one will do better. do they hook up to the eye or do I need to convert them? thanks

if i remember correctly, the 5150 won't go on our trucks because they have a hoop at both ends instead of a hoop on the bottom and a stud on the top.
thanks for the info, i'm going to have to do some more research

I have the 5125's for the rear and they come with the adapters already on them .I haven't installed them yet with my 1'' blocks but it looks like they would work either way by just removing or leaving the adapters .

Do we need different shocks in the rear when installing a 1" block? How about a 1" block & the leaf TSB?

I would go with a longer shock with both a block and the TSB. How much did that raise your rear end? around 1.50-2.00"?

Go with 5100's from wheelers, bolt on replacement, no adapters needed. I have been running them for about 7 months now with no complaints.

How much longer are the rear 5100's compared to stock TRD Bilsteins?

That looks like the pic from the ToyTec sight. Hopefully they treated you better than they treated me.

As for the adapters, you can get them from TopGunCustomz, ToyTech, Pro-Comp.

I will either be ordering the 5125's or the 5150's myself. And they make numerous different sizes. For the 5125's, they come in the following sizes:

Part Number Travel Description Valving Reservoir Ext Length Col Length Shaft Dia. Mounting
BE5-A827-T5 5 5125 Off-Road 233/90 N/A 16.50 11.12 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6251-H5 6.63 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 18.50 12.03 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6252-H5 8.13 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 21.54 13.58 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6253-H5 8.60 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 22.50 14.06 14mm eye/eye
BE5-A463-H5 9.24 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 24.35 15.11 14mm eye/eye
BE5-A464-H5 10.17 5125 Off-Road 170/60 N/A 25.93 15.91 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6248-H5 10.17 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 25.93 15.91 14mm eye/eye
BE5-A465-H5 11.00 5125 Off-Road 170/60 N/A 28.01 17.00 14mm eye/eye
BE5-A465-H7 11.00 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 28.01 17.00 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6249-H5 11.94 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 29.70 17.91 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6249-T5 11.94 5125 Off-Road 298/36 N/A 29.70 17.91 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6250-H5 14.30 5125 Off-Road 255/70 N/A 34.90 20.75 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6250-T5 14.30 5125 Off-Road 298/36 N/A 34.90 20.75 14mm eye/eye
BE5-6250-T7 14.30 5125 Off-Road 270/50 N/A 34.90 20.75 14mm eye/eye

That should be more than enough options for 3" lifts springs, 3" aal, 1 1/2" blocks, etc. The shocks pictured above are the BE5-A463-H5

Does anybody know the answer to this question?
Since they claim it's good for up to 2.5" of lift, I'd say they are 2.5" longer....but can't say as I do not have them to measure.

I will be able to answer this question this weekend as I will be installing BilStein's this weekend.

I do:
not much. i tried to put 5100's on my truck with about 2 1/2-3" of lift and it was going to provide me with about an inch of down travel once they were on. you could do it with the revtek kit or with the tsb springs but anything more than 1.5"-2" it is going to be clanking every time you try to flex the rear at all, until you break one of the shocks.

Thanks 6shooter & zmtnbik!

Zm, it would be nice if you could post your findings this weekend.

6shooter, it sounds like I can just keep my stock TRD Bilsteins if I decide to put a 1" block in? I would estimate the total lift in the rear to be 1.5" max after my TSB springs have settled a lot. Do you think that would be a problem? Worth a try? Has anybody here done that?

So would we be able to use the 5150's with the adapter from say the 5125's? Or would that now work, and what if the 5150's come with the adapter to make them fit would the compressed shock not fit underneath our trucks with say a 3" revtek lift? I am going to get the Revtek lift for now but want a shock with some flex in it. Let me know someone! Thanks!

Ok I found the adapters for 5 bucks at www.performanceproducts4trucks.com but I still dont understand what the travel length for them is. Im assuming its the length that they extend/flex. I would love to use these for all the offroading I do but I need someone to verify that what Im thinking is correct before I decide to buy these to go on with my Revtek Lift. Thanks. Ive been jumping back and forth from the Fabtech and Revtek because I have nowhere that is a decent price to get the Fabtech installed in my area

5100 and 5125 are the same exact shock.
but the 5125 are universal.
255/70 vavling is recommended for our trucks,
and the vavling is only optional with 10" and up.

you'll want the 8.3" shock if you go with the 5150s,
because with the adapter will also add about 1.5" to the overall length of the shock.

Oh I see, well will you get more flex with the 5150 then? Also could I go bigger than 8.3 with the 3" lift or would it not work or is it not recommended?

you wont get more flex unless you up the length.
the 5150s are good for long bumpy roads where the shock oil will get hot.
but you wont notice the difference between the two unless you use them, and is the price worth it to you?

Yeah I think it will be, i go hunting 2-3 times a week and my job makes me use back roads all the time. I think ill have to go with the 5150's unless I sell my other pickup then ill probably go with the 6" lift

doesnt provide anymore clearance than a 2-3" lift.
drop bracket is always going to be there.
