I read that Tacomas have a problem with bottoming out... but I've never experienced this and I'm wondering if I'm alone. I've had an 05 AC (hit in the rear and totaled), an 07 single cab prerunner and then an 08 DC short-bed (needed a place to put the baby).

I guess the most weight I've hauled is about a half-ton of pea gravel and I've also pulled a 15' foot travel trailer. I've never had a problem, even when hitting dips in the road with these loads... althrough I usually brace for a thump.

Not all trucks were having the issue. I've bottomed out more times than I can count but I don't have the money to address the problem.

Never bottomed mine out and I've hauled my motorcycle a couple of times in it:

Oh and I've rolled the bike right over the tailgate with me standing on it and my tailgate hasn't bent either. Maybe I'm just lucky, knock on wood...

Yea, mine has been doing it lately and I think it is time to AAL or maybe even get a leaf spring set.

2 people in the cab, 300# in bed. Bottomed out on EVERY little road imperfection. Bump stops were shiny clean.

Mine was riding on the stops with 1000 lbs of topsoil, but I still don't have much desire to get the TSB done...I like the ride now, and rarely haul more than a few hundred pounds of "weekend warrior" supplies from Home Depot.

I bottomed out constantly with the stock 3-leaf pack and a 1" block, drove me nuts! Also rode the bump stops whenever I put a decent load in the bed. Dealer wouldn't do the TSB so I finally bought some Dakar leafs, problem solved.

still bottomed out with the tsb springs, so I put in Timkens. Sometimes when empty it can be harsh when it hits the Timkens, but way better than bottoming. But, when loaded, the Timkens make it WAY better. Truck actually feels like it has 1/2 ton suspension now...

Nice pics... Can you estimate the weight of that load for us? It looks pretty heavy to me - but I've never been into landscaping on that scale, so I have no idea what that might weigh...
Probably 2K lbs or more.

Must be a LB thing I never bottomed out when I was stock, and thats with 300lb+ in the back regularly.
