my gas milage goes to hell every september and then in april it goes back up to 22 mpg, rite now im lucky to get 19mpg, this is crap.

im thinking its the crap iowa gas we get. it isnt making a difference where i buy the gas from either, ive tried QT,Caseys,BP,Kum and Go. nothing changes.

anyways its done this to me every year for the last 4 years.

oxygenated fuel. winter fuel sucks over here too. same thing, winter=bad mileage, summer it goes back up.
shooter you never fail, think i should try additives or will it matter
you can try but, it's probably not going to help much. it won't hurt but, the minimal possible gains probably wouldn't even outweigh the cost. i've never really tried it myself so i don't speak from experience, just opinion.
good luck.
Could also be that's the season where you might be using your defrost all the time, which cranks on your AC (automatically) to dry out the air before it hits your windshield. AC on = Bad mileage. Maybe in combo with the bad gas you guys get, too
That is true, gas companies change their gas for the seasons. I think there's more ethanol in the winter, which is less efficient, but cleaner burning.

Well, here's some comments about it, and around the sixth or so, there's a link to a quick fix. Enjoy!!

In addition to using the ac via the defrosters and the winter blend of fuel you also need to figure in the fact that in colder months the vehicle takes longer to warm up and there for will run richer for a longer time than it does in hotter months. Mine does the same thing, but with a slightly smaller change, about 1.5-2 MPG.
