I've been searching for days trying to find a short shifter for my the 2010 6spd camry. Some people said to they cut the shifter pole but i am a little confused on how to cut it with the reverse being the pull up way and there is that extra thing over the rod for it. So did anyone find a solution and could help me out, thanks alot.

Buy a new shifter from the parts department and take it to a machine shop to be reworked as needed. They make very few manuals and the volume is such that an aftermarket company can't see a profit in the deal, so no, nobody has found one premanufactured. If it bothers you too much, you just need to get the part and redesign it.

I just emailed my dealership parts department see if they can do this for me. Am i just looking for any regular replacement shifter like the exact same one thats in my car now ? Also, would any universal or SS made for a different car fit. Thanks alot

That thread is just for the shift knob. I am looking to change the actual shifter not just the knob bud.

Order the part you want to cut off. Get it. Stare at it. Figure out how short you want it to be and how to make it that short. Find a machine shop that will play with it for you, cut it, drill holes in it, whatever. When you are happy, swap it out with the original. Save the original because you will want to sell that car someday, and nobody else will want thet shifter as much as you wanted that shifter.

I think you are looking for an actual short shifter and not a shorter shifter right? I have looked into it for my 08 and i know that the Fidanza short shifter for the scion TC will fit in our cars but im not sure with the 2010... hope that helps you out a bit

Just a random thought, but Aisin makes transmissions for pretty much every major automaker out there so its possible that your camry might share the same transmission with a vehicle of another make and model. If you can find out the model # of the 6 speed used on the Gen 6.5, find out if that model number is used in any other make/models and look for a short throw shifter kit for the other cars.

The 2011 Scion TC will have the new 2.5 L engine i believe you can wait till some aftermarket parts come out for it and can probably install the short shifter with minor modifications like the 2.4 L camrys.
