Anyone have a Prerunner and wish they had a 4x4

I am glad that I got a 4x4. It really helps out in heavy ass rain or going up fatty hills.

Yesterday I was trying to get up a steep ass hill. The steepest hill I have ever seen, it was covered in leaves and it was wet. I tried going up in 2wd and kept slipping. I tossed the truck in 4wd and it was marvelous.

I had to go up this hill to pick up a new puppy. A golden lab. :lol:

The Prerunner is a great truck though.

It can still do almost everything the 4x4s can.

well how is this..... I wish I had bought an extracab. I have 4wd but I know how you feel. :disappoin Im a dum ass for not spending the extra 60-80$ a month then... If i sell or trade my truck in. I will get raped

It's not so much that I wish I had a 4X4. But I really wish I had your rig. I was a dumb cheap ass and got the prerunner with the 2.7l. So don't feel so bad.
I don't mind two wheel drive. And with a little driving finesse you can go a lot of places. I am not saying it will beat a 4X4. But I will say that in some areas you can do better then a 4X4 if you know how to balance the throttle, wheel and brake. With the right set of tires.

I have had Chevy, Ford, Nissan and Toy 4by's all my life. But had three favorites. A 1979 and a 1980 Toyota 4X (this was in Alaska). In the 1980 pickup I put a buick 231 V-6. That set a wheels could go anywhere.
My 05 prerunner is a joy to drive. I am not regretting my purchase. I just wish I had more power.
I guess you have to figure out your needs. A 4X would have been nice but not if you don't use it.

same with me , i love my prerunner

Prerunners are nice trucks..

I like mine as well, its a lot better than the 1997 F-150 Offroad I had, I really enjoy the 4 doors..

4WDs are great, but so are PreRunners. There is a lot you can do with 4WD that you can't with 2WD, but after you've owned one for a while, you realize that there is a lot you shouldn't be doing with your 4WD, that you do, just to see if you can do it.

do i wish i spent a extra 3k on 4wd while living in so cal? HELL NO! i love my truck the way it is
