Just saw one of these on one of the Speed Channel shows. Very nice! Front engine, rear drive. Kinda has the Supra or GS set-up. Called the Chaser.

Yeah chasers are beautiful. Cant get them in the us though.
yeah, i saw a lot of those when i went to Hong Kong. its very hot.
i believe that's like the 10th generation too. if you're good at gran-turismo 3+, you can even drive a tom's modified chaser just like the one pictured;) . has the 2jz powerplant from the supra as well. similar to the aristo in layout, size, engine, and vehicle class, but i'm not sure if they share more than the engine.
was browsing that link....

jdm cars = :)

Actually it has a 1JZ-GTE. The 2.5 liter version of the Inline 6. That yr may still have the twin turbos. Later 1JZ-GTE's have a bigger single turbo from the factory and they also got VVT-i.

Chasers are bad a$$. Just can't get them here in the US.
Ah yes, the JZX100 Chaser... the 1996-2000 Cressida that the rest of the world never got...
i wish i had one of those! that would be sweet.

ay yes. 1JZ. my bad. just that 2JZ-GTE swaps were so popular, i forgot bout the original powerplant. lol.

:werd: lexus lineup practically blocked the chasers and left us with avalons. not that i'm totally against it... lol.
if US still got cressida's, that car would have been it, I've driven that model (well one w/o the ground effects). Its seems underpowered for the engine it has...maybe cus of the weight. From what i could get, my 1mzfe seemed more powerful that that chaser...but then again, i'd just drove it on citystreets, not highways!

I'm totally against it. Instead of a RWD grand-touring car closely linked to the Supra, for 1995, Toyota gave us a boatier version of the Camry

Toyota's only somewhat repented with the current generation Avalon. Still needs RWD.

The Chaser in the link above is a Tourer V model. 1JZ-GTE, with 276 bhp. You must've REALLY been lightfooting it.
1JZ-swap a Cressida, similar result. It's been done
looks like an Avalon
Damn that's a beautiful car.
