Just wondering what kind of creative home made setups you might have made for hauling stuff etc like pics of bed storage or racks you would be willing to share or any different ways to haul skis or dirt bikes other than the roof rack or the obvious tie downs, kinda Tim "the tool man" Taylor like.

Saw this thread and 10 minutes later I came across this picture. Hope they don't mind...........

I don't know what I would do without my long box :)

I use my Toyotas as Work Trucks

Here is my '84 SR5 XtraCab, 4x4, 5 spd with a cross box and custom ladder rack.
This is the basic setup for a pickup that needs to work.
Everything gets wet, but lots of options for how to carry stuff.

Stuff stays dry, but storage is a problem. Cross boxes don't work. Chests difficult to organize. Few options exist for intelligent storage.

Current '05 Tacoma [see siggi] with custom intelligent side boxes installed.
Height of boxes are the same as the tailgate.
Materials, even long ones ;), are fully supported.
The 2x4 behind the cab is for additional support.

I created a web page with more details here:

I posted this picture once before in a different thread, but it's what I did to organize my junk.
