Arm Rests

Does anyone know if the arm rest can be purchased as a replacement part from the dealer? I noticed my drivers side arm rest was feeling a bit wierd, and after looking at it closer it appears to be cracked in two places. I was thinking of taking the door panel off and laying some epoxy along the crack lines, but if this doesn't work I may have to repalce the arm rest.

Thanks

Same problem here man. I've got some thin plastic I'm going to mold to it and "weld" in place with some plastic bonding agent.
The dealer wanted to sell the whole door skin.. and that was $$$
I have the same problem, I took the panel off to take a look and there is a 'T' shaped plastic seam there (under the arm rest), mine broke along the seam. I've been trying to figure out the best way to repair it because I checked out a few dealers and they don't sell the armrest you have to buy the complete panel.
haha me too!!I hope we find a cheap solution for this.

The panel costs $400
Well after taking the door panel off, I noticed the previous owner attempted to repair the problem by laying down some sort of plastic pieces over the cracks, but these pieces are now pulling away and allowing the arm rest to cave in along the seams which are cracked. I don't think buying a new door panel is really an option at this point and trying to find one of these vehicles in the wrecking yards is next to impossible.....you just never know when buying a used vehicle what to expect
I would guess they are available individually. The leather kit I bought came with those panels already upholstered in leather. They just need to be attached.

Marc,

Were you talking about the entire door panel, or just the arm rest?

Thanks

Just the cloth portion.

Thanks Marc,

Could you tell me more about where you purchased the upholstered arm rests? Maybe I should consider re-doing both arm rests since I need to replace or repair one already.

we drilled holes on either side of the crack and kindov sewed it togeather with some ss whire and gorilla glue it worked well

Hey, I bought my truck brand new and about a year after I had the broken arm rest problem. I didn't abuse the interior or had any kind of accident, the arm rest plastic is just weak.
