Took the truck on a trip from Albuquerque (6000 ft above sea level) to Green Bay, Wi (600 asl). Noticed my 06' dbl cab 4x4 (auto trans) cruise control was not quite as finicky in the midwest due to obvious reasons. I must say, it was a very noticible difference. The truck would not kick into 4th or even 3rd to negotiate a hill at the lower elevations. i slammed the truck for it's crappy cruise control system. i appologize to my truck and to the people of the midwestern states. Is there something i can do (mod) to adjust for the higher elevations of new mexico. BTW, 3800 mile round trip with head winds both ways, 18-20 mpg was the average. didn't need the 4x4 until i pulled into my driveway in albuquerque on my return trip, had 14 inches of snow to push out of the way..... i love my silver streak taco... Good people buy great trucks. thanks for the info.. jim:cool:

I've yet to drive my truck at any altitude below 5000 ft....I guess that's the price you pay for living in CO.

I will notice that I have not seen any issues with accelerating even at 11,000 feet.....of course I am running a 6-sp manual and love to hammer it.
