My old school did. they had everything i didnt take the class tho. but they were able to jack up cars and do loads of stuff. my new school that just opened sux major ass. for ur first year of auto shop u have to work on model cars.
Mine does, for grade 10/11/12. Didn't take it this year because I've got a heavy course load and need my spare periods, but I'm lucky the grade 11/12 class goes down during my spare. When I'm free, I hang out there.

It's a wicked autoshop, we have 2, but only one is used daily. The one that's used has 2 two-post hoists, lotsa stuff. The teacher, a REAL licensed mechanic, will fix your/your family/teacher's cars for no labour charge, and can get parts at wholesale from UAP/Napa.

He'll do decently big jobs, but nothing huge, ie, rebuilding your motor or replacing your engine/tranny. Just not enough time.
Took first year auto mech. in high skool. It covered basic car maintanence. Regretably, I didn't continue taking it teh following years because I wasn't interested at the time.
We had it all 4 years of hs as well. The paint quality was shitty I know that. The instructor let them practice on a 67 vette with a blown 350ci every year for graduation. (don't know anything about it) I just remember the paint jobs were always crappy looking.

They did have 5 service pays tho... Nice.
my school sucked, it didnt have shit...

and i really wanted to take it too.:(
to be more specific i went to 2 diff high schools but both had auto shop
the 1st didn't have lifts, tire balancer, tire mount. brake lathe
the second had everything. i spent my last 2 yrs in high school taking that class twice a day. we did engine swaps and gas to electric conversions.security hated me cause i would alway leave school ground cause i had to go pisk up a part  they'd throw me in detention then when they leave the teacher let me out cause i worked on his car. i also forgot to return 2 books at the end of the year but since i also worked on the book keepers car she let it go. damn i had so much pull in that school:disappoin i miss it

i say we break into your old school, and pimp the principle's car...
 i prefered working on the go karts they could do wheelies and beat my teachers 911 off the line:lol:

what were the top speeds..?

12 mph..??:p:
Mine did, and I regret not taking it.

It would have been nice to get my feet wet in the automotive world a few years earlier than I did.
75mph was the top speed but after 60mph it would shake badly. we ran it with m/t drag slicks and it still spun those we had vw wheels on the front. it was sick

Yeah, my school did.

The teachers were wicked ******** (not white trash at all), so they had a SC'ed Camero and something else, but they would 'show it off' by putting 50 foot black streaks down the road (these were like 10" wide tires!)

Cool stuff.
