need to know if your 4A-FE w/ A131L (1.6L with 3spd) or 7a-fe w/ A245E (1.8L with 4spd OD) the conversion can be done, and has been done..

The questions are how much your willing to spend and how much of the work do you plan on doing?

Hey man, i've got everything you need to swap your auto to a 5 speed.

Car was a 1.6 4afe, trans worked great.

Hope i'm not opening an old thread back up...

So what are some general instructions in doing a Automatic to Manual conversion?

Also the 1.6L 4A-FE engine here with the 3spd auto (who the hell decided to put a 3spd in!?)

Slave cylinder, master cylinder, shifter cables, manual tranny, tranny mount, shifter mount, brake pedal, clutch pedal, clutch pedal bracket/mount, ecu, clutch, flywheel and other minor things. Drilling and cutting will be involved in this project.

In reality, don't even try it if you can even take out an engine. If you don't know any of these parts, don't try.

X2 there are so many things to be changed so you have to prepare a lot of bread and patience

there really isnt alot to this swap it just seems like there is cause you have to get so many parts, but once you get all the parts its pretty easy. the hardest part I had was drilling out for the clutch pedal everything else took only acouple of minutes to do. if you can do it yourself and have someone help you then go that way and depending on when you start it should only take a day or no longer than a weekend.
