So I've had a autometer temp gauge hooked up to my 4af and I'm questioning whether or not it's accurate, I'm thinking it reads quite high. Driving the car last summer that gauge regularly hit 210 on long drives with and without the thermostat. I also installed this fan control switch:

I put the probe direct off the hot rad hose (upper) within about 8" of the engine. With the switch set at its lowest (which is 160) the fans don't come on until the gauge reads something on the order of 185-190. With the switch approximately 1/3 up (so about 185) the gauge hits 215 before the fans kick...

Any ideas/suggestions?
