I know there have been many posts concerning the cell phone which work and those who don't work. I am thinking of upgrading my cell phone and wondering what will work. My iPhone 4s (I know it is old but so am I) works well except I am not allowed to reply to text with the pre-set replies. If I am upgrading, I want a phone which will do all. Verizon is my carrier. Anyone happy with their phones and cars? All suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

i6 plus works fine. As long as the connection is good it functions great. I think all the newer generation Samsungs (Except the latest that catch on fire but I believe have been take off the market now) & iPhones should work fine. Not sure on some of the off brands.

I have been trying all types of iPhones that my friends have. None are working. Is there a chance something is wrong with the car and not the phone. I have tried iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+. All help will be appreciate. I just have not found someone with a galaxy phone to try out.

For an iPhone you need to: 1)turn on internet hotspot on your iphone & leave it on for future use. 2) pair bluetooth 3) In pairing on Avalon screen go to the "internet" bluetooth connection (don't enable yet) and select tools (gearwheel icon on right side), enable dunpan internet connection, enable entune and enter UN & PW. Somewhere in this process you need to select your phone carrier. I turn off the warnings i.e. for internet charges. After the previous steps then try to enable the connect to internet on the bluetooth menu screen. Then when trying out entune you need to have entune on for the first connection. After the first time it works without the entune app being on on the iphone.

It is a pain, but it works when set. I've had to redo the pairing a couple times when there are iphone updates. Some of the updates shut off the "hotspot" function and all I had to do is enable it again.

I usually put my phone on a charger in the car and let the internet connection happen over bluetooth. The car actually charges the phone in this mode. Som e mention connecting an iphone via USB connects fine but does not adequately charge in this setup.

I had a S3 Samsung that worked good and was easy to pair. I did have many other issues with that phone but it was easy to internet connect and didn't require all the setup steps.

Good luck.
