first of all, thanks to Mike's TSB, my avalon runs great!

secondly, i am trying to upgrade the look on car by adding the side molding & painted mudguard. I tried doing it from dealer, but they are freaggin charging around 450 just for molding parts & installation + another 250 for mudguard parts and installation.

i was able to find the colored side molding for 75 bucks + 78 bucks for all 4 mudguards.

NOW my question, is it easy to install the side molding & mudguard? Let me know please!

thanks!!

I have installed both.
The rear mudguards involve drilling 2 holes (into plastic, not metal), most easily done if the wheel & tire assembly is removed. Other than that, no special skills or tools are required.
Installing the side molding requires patience and care, since you only get one shot at placing them correctly. I recommend a helper, painter's masking tape, and a long straight edge (such as an 8 foot carpenter's level).
You can view some installation instructions at: http://members.cox.net/n0v8or/nerf_strip_install.pdf

I installed the mud guards on mine. It's very easy. You're provided with the hardware needed and only need to drill two holes into plastic. Just like Inov8 - I'd recommend removing the rear wheels. The front's are fine if you just turn the wheel out of the way.

I think they look great as well!
