You did start from a stop, and at some point came to a stop, right? :)
But , yeah, 40 minutes, and thats the average is a bit weird. Maybe its calculating mph? I don't know. Try and reset things and then retest. I wonder what source the app uses to calc the average?

Yup. Picture is from my house to work. No stops. Well, unless you count stop signs and lights lol but YES I hit update every fill up and ZIP nothing, no change in the oddness.

I still say the whole radio is going on the bunk!..Keeping an eye on it and I have to go in for some service next week I'll bring it up with them at that point and see.

Well, if you had stop signs and such, don't under estimate a naught zero into a average. But doesn't hurt to ask...Unless they suck a bunch of your time. Better off someone answering here.

You know now that you mention it. You're probably right. As I wouldn't put it past the brains at Toyota to calculate something silly like this and reset it's stupid self every stop light lol....mind you one stretch is over 15 with no lights so go figure that out Toyota lol.

Two minutes at stop lights and two minutes doing 60 would give you an average of 30 MPH. Two miles divided by 4. Of course that is not taking into consideration the time spent at lower speeds accelerating and decelerating.

Hmmmm...is it just me or am I the only one who thinks this is just another useless app?

Not worried as it's cool to look at till I get my OBD2 dongle next week then I can monitor anything and everything.

Pretty useless. I don't bother with it. The thing I look at is my current MPG, or average MPG, etc. The graph on the Entune was cool, but they are all pretty useless once the "newness" of the feature is gone. :)

I bet that average is completely accurate. If you really want to prove it, reset it in the morning before starting your car and leaving for work. Take note of exactly what time you started your car and exactly what time your turned the motor off when you got to work. Also note exactly how far you travelled from home to work. Then divide distance by time and covert to KM per hour.

Besides, even if it is wrong the dealer isn't going to be able to do anything about it.
