I just installed the Pioneer AVIC-Z2 in my '08 Tacoma double cab, it's working perfectly with one exception. I would like the display "dimmer" to work when my headlights are turned on. I've read through many forms and can't find anything definitive. According to Crutchfields information, the green wire on pin #2 of the stock radio harness is the dimming wire. Is this where I would connect the Orange/White lead comming from the deck? Some forums that I've read have horror stories of guys connecting the wrong wire and experiencing a melt down, possibly because Toyota wires things "differently" than other mfr's. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I do have the JBL system using the metra TYTO-01. Thanks!

I installed a Pioneer DEH-P880PRS and was faced with exactly the same thing: orange/white pioneer dimmer wire, Toyota green illumination wire, instructions said do not use, specs on each not particularly compatible-looking. But I took a deep breath, hooked 'em up, and it works perfectly.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. I contacted Pioneer's Tech support and they told me the orange/white wire needed 12v when the headlights were turned on. So I played it safe and ran a wire through my firewall out to the corner parking light marker. Works great!
