No, I've net a quite a few people who have converted their All Tracs to two wheel drives because the transfer case was so costly. Four were mechanics. I think that if there was a problem in terms of longevity, they would foresee it. What sucks is even if it's in two-wheel drive, you'll still have most of the All Tracs weight due to most of the components still being in place. I believe that the transfer case and front driveshaft are removed though.
