I think it's bad luck following me!
But like i said i recently got my corolla 2004(about 6months ago--should've waited for the XRS) and i was rear ended 3 weeks ago, and keyed 2 weeks ago! YUP!
thank god that lady that hit me sent me a cheque(an estimate i got from a certified toyota autoshop) as she did not want to go thru insurance.

my question is, does it matter whether i go to a certified toyota autoshop or an independent autoshop to fix it? would it in anyway affect my insurance or my warranty?

thanks y'all!

^^ it is cheaper to do at another shop BUT, if the car is under warrenty or lease its better to go to the dealer ship or a shop that is qualified to do dealership work. (go figure there are shops out there that cant do dealer work :p)

I know from my dads exsperience he got rear-ended and GM dealership repainted the whole car it was nuts we never thought they would do all of that but hey.

PS if you need a shop that could do dealer work let me know my rolla is there right now. fair price for great work.

unfortunately... not everyone in toronto, can do dealer's workmanship. i have first hand experience when my honda got rear ended by another car. it was painted by a shop that was recommended by my insurance company. when i got it back, i wasn't happy with it and i called back my insurance co. and they said just to go back to the body shop and they'll fix it AGAIN. and they did coz that's the warranty but if i went to a shop i preferred no matter what the outcome was, they won't warranty anything.

TOcorolla... just like Fabius said earlier go to a dealer if you're leasing... but if you own it go to a place a little bit cheaper.

FYI: body shops here in toronto would warranty their job but when you actually bring back the car to them they'll give you so much bullshit and it'll take a while to get it repaired.
