It's likely an "Enhanced Flooded Battery", which is a tweener of price and performance between a traditional flooded battery and an AGM. Start-stop technology places a lot more wear and tear on a battery, which the traditional flooded battery isn't as capable.

Hi,
Have a 2018 regular Camry (not Hybrid). The battery says battery type 380ln3-mf. this is the original stock battery as far a I know. I have a NOCO genius 1 to maintain it. I can’t find the battery type anywhere - I assume it is a regular lead acid and not AGM. Not sure what AGM is- But want to be safe and sure.

Also, the battery post has a black plastic piece that makes the clamping to the post hard. Can I also clamp to the screw part next to the post ? Thanks all!
For most of my charging I like the CTE k it also is a battery rejuvenator..

From the instruction manual of the NOCO Genius 1

Since my guess it's enhanced flooded, it uses the same charging mode as a regular flooded battery, but the battery is "Maintenance Free" according to the part number posted on the battery

In case it helps someone in the future – I called the battery recharging company. They said if you weren’t sure to use the non-AGM. And it would not be a problem. Of course, that isn’t in writing, so if anyone has a similar issue to mine, best to call the recharging company, or try to find out the battery type….which doesn’t seem to be that easy or consistent. According to the dealer, it is not AGM . So hopefully they are right…. But they couldn’t point me to anything in writing.
A search of battery manufacturers and vendors yielded conflicting information on the charging needs (voltages and charger types) of AGM vs. standard flooded cell batteries - some claimed the standard setting was okay for AGM and others claimed it eventually would damage them. Lacking solid information I'd use the charger setting recommended for the type, and if you don't know the type keep searching until you do. However, it seems that you have a flooded cell battery.

The newer German vehicles, when you change a battery requires you to register the battery with the battery management module, which as part of coding, which during the process of entering information, identifies the type of battery, as AGM and flooded have different charging profiles.

After pricing batteries I discovered that Costco sells Interstate batteries with a 3 year warranty for about $100. Similar batteries at OReilly were over twice that amount and about $250 for an AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat). If within the warranty period they will replace them with no hassle.

Easy answer here. That is a one amp charger, not 40 amps. Just assume it is AGM and set the charger to that. The tipoff a battery is AGM, especially when it looks like a group 42 German car battery is there will be a small vent hole with or without a nipple for the vent hose for trunk mounted batteries. How long is the car sitting between uses that you need the maintainer? Just curious

When I search Costco, they only offer AGM for the gas '22. One would think they're interchangeable, but someone on here mentioned the vehicle system needs to adjust accordingly if created to do so.
Here's hoping it does this.

My CTEK charger automatically detects which battery type and charges accordingly.
