Bed Lights

I want to install some led lights for the bed but having a hard time locating a good set that will fit under the rail system and provide adequate light. Anyone have any suggestions or sites to look at. I have looked through the threads as well as the DIY. Saw a few things but either the auction was over or the pics are no longer visible. Thanks

Thanks guys. Looked at the link and I think I found what I was looking for. Good looking out. Hope this works out as easily as it is in my head
good luck on the install Sal. i have a wiring diagram on my cardomain page, but also, let me know if you need help
Has anyone purchased any lights recently to do this mod? I'm having trouble finding lights similiar to those others have used. Everything on ebay seems to be the flexible lights and I don't know about using them. Any ideas? Thanks.

Here's a person that did it just last month and used a set of backup lights:

Thanks Moose, that guy did a great job. But I'm really looking for the LED strip lights that mjonags32 used, just not having any luck. Anyone else seen anything on ebay lately or any where else?
They were a bit expensive but I am very happy with them. Here is the website to purchase but I bought mine on ebay. These are the long strips that are rigid, encased in plexi or plastic.

Thanks Evil, but I found and decided to go with these.

From reading online I'll need to add a little sealant on the ends to waterproof them but they look plenty bright enough. I bought 4 of the 20in lengths.
Truxedo just came out with a setup for a fair price all inclusive might want to check it out. i'm picking up a set.

Well I finally got around to installing my bed lights. Went with the Piranha Bars from Oznium, just added some clear sealant to the ends to waterproof them. Very Bright.

Wow that looks nice lit up! is it too bright or is it the pics? I may be hitting you up later as i might do the same thing.....is that the white or blue lights?
They are the Cool White LEDs. The pictures make the strips look brighter than they are. They provide a nice even light throughout the bed.
I really have to get around to doing this to my truck. I started the project and never finished it.

HumpVt, those lights look good.
humpvt, could u post up a howto on how u wired it and all?
I bought 4 of the Piranha Bars in Cool White and a switch from Oznium.com (http://www.oznium.com/piranha-bar). I like these because they are round and you can rotate them when you mount them to shine towards the center of the bed. Unfortunately they do not come Waterproof, so i popped the ends off of them and filled the caps with clear sealant. They do sell some that are waterproof if you don't want to deal with this.

I mounted the switch inside the cubby in the top corner. As far as wiring, I kept it very simple. The lights come with plugs to connect them together, so the 2 on each side are just plugged together. I then cut the plugs off the ends closest to the cab and attached wire. I then essential ran wire similiar to mjonags32's install.

Ran the wires in behind the cubbies, connected to my switch, grounded on the frame and then ran power under the truck to the battery where I added an in-line fuse. I just connected straight to the battery so I can turn these on whenever I need them with out needing a key in the ignition.
