/\ haha

also if it's hot outside you may not want to run your engine to long and risk overheating!

it isnt good for the engine to just let it idle for hours at a time. turn it off. use the battery, and turn it on every 30 minutes or so and leave it running for afew minutes to get the battery charged up again

Only problem with that is, with the engine off, you only get 100 watts, with it on 400 watts. So if you are going to need a constant 400 watts, that just isn't an option. Plus letting it idle isn't bad unless you in the sahara.

if u leave it in the on position, u get 400.;) atleast for me i do, cause i used it to solder, and im pretty sure that takes more than 100watts.

According to the manual, idle=400 watts, on position=100watts
My 400W light comes on with the key on, engine off. Only drops to 100W when I push the clutch or the truck moves (too many damn sensors preventing you from getting 400W while driving to bother bypassing). Or if I have it on, and start the truck. More likely due to me pressing the clutch to start.

Either way, I think it's retarded that they would expect you to have the engine running for full power, but NOT be driving... Like you don't want to charge a battery or run a cooler on the way to some place.

if you're worried about running something for an extended period of time, look into the in-cab inverter mod in the DIY folder. best thing about it is you can wire it so that your ignition doesn't have to be on, and you can get an inverter with a larger output than 400 watts. i personally have one for 750 watts :D
