re: 93 previa all trac 330k miles engine replacement:

replacement engine removed from donor van with trans attached.
forgot to remove flex plate/torque conv bolts.
moved trans about 1.5" away from engine before relaizing my mistake.
could I have bent the flex plate?
In case I replace, anyone know the flex plate to crank bolt torque spec?

93 2wd and 93 all trac: same ECU brain or different?

How to lift replacement engine into van?
hoist from above or lift from below?

I can't find the torque specs right off hand either. The flex plate should not have been hurt since the torque converter should have slid forward when you separated the engine and the trans. The ECM might be different due to a couple of extra sensors on the AWD trans. If you have the donor van for the engine I would grab the ECM and even maybe the harness too.

Forgot to add. The engine/trans is easily lifted with a floor jack and a 2"x12" long enough to go underneath both at the same time. You will need tall jackstands and a ratchet strap to bind the engine and trans to your 2"x12". I made mine 48" long to go far enough and put the jack right under the bell housing portion of the board for balance. Using a helper is almost a must since you have to tip the engine to get it in its mounts before you raise the trans up to place.
