Here I am , starting yet another thread , and about none other than fuel consumption. I think I drink more water than the peecup drinks gas, but the peecup is just more pee-like.
Im officially stoked because for the first time I am getting pretty awesome mileage.

Worst: 190 miles on approx 15 gallons = 12.6 MPG
Average: 210 miles on approx 15 gallons = 14 MPG
Best: Currently, I am at 161 miles on 1/2 tank about 7.5 gallons = 21.5 MPG
which I will find out the exact number whenever the freakin gas tank goes dry!

Call me grandpa but lately ive really enjoyed driving smooth and slow. Less worries about breaking @$$ and getting a ticket and I figure, at this rate, will save about $10-15 every time I fill up.

This IS on a 3veezy with intake, exhaust, and 32" Mud Terrains @ 30psi.
I have been shifting on the #$*& at about 2100-2400 RPM and cruise around town in 4th gear @ 1500 RPM ( never less than that just to keep the oil circulating well )

I like this:clap:

I have a 22r/e, 33x12.50"s, 5 speed, with exhaust. I averaged 25mpg once! There's a route I used to be able to take to vo-tech that was literally downhill both ways... Usually I average around 19 - 22mpg.

i never calculate my mileage, but i've got a '94 22re, 31x10.5's, and i average 250-280 miles per tank. :) (and i don't drive like a grandma.)

i can get 300/tank if i drive nicely. but where's the fun in that? ;)

Good Thread...I NEED HELP especially after hearing about your 3vze doing 21.5 on half a tank.........WOW
I Drive a 89 4wd pickup with the 3vze 3.0, a 3"body lift, on 33x12.5's. I ONLY GET 10-12 mpg on the last 3 full tanks???? The odometer reads 290,xxx. I can only assume this to be true. The prior owner (I got it 2 weeks ago) said the head gasket was done by recall "some time ago". As far as I know, this mileage is correct. The truck runs well besides a high idle that I am still trying to dial in, and an OCCASIONAL surging idle. I drive it pretty conservatively. Mostly "city driving".....ANY IDEAS, TIPS, TRICKS?????? or is this the approximate mpg I should be getting????

I've never done the math, but after eyeballing the fuel guage and odometer, I'd say 25 mpg is the average. I can squeeze 30+ if I do a lot of fuel saving tricks. (Turning the car off and taking out of gear down hills, shifting way low, accelerating like a grandma, keeping below 60mph on the freeway, drafting semis.) I've done it to make a single tank last about a week and a half. I do A LOT of driving, so that is an incredible feat for me.

xaotic- I would make sure the engine is in a good state of tune ( plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, o2 sensor, coolant temp. sensor) , has fresh oil, and that the wheel bearings are rolling well.

Well, the road was pretty much flat, slightly rolling, all the way North, but there were two ways I could go West. Street 1 was one mile south of street 2 and it went downhill, then North for 1 mile, up a very short, small hill, and into the parking lot the back way. The other way (the way I would come home) would come out the main entrance, go downhill to street 2, which would take you slightly downhill to the main road, and south to my house. DOWNHILL BOTH WAYS! :whatwhat:

best in the 94 22RE was 22
worst was 14 (plowing some driveways last week and let it idle for about half the day.)
Average is 21mpg week in and week out usually.

stock gearing on 31x10.5's

I'm curious what a 95 V6, 5spd and manual front hubs would be able to achieve for around town? highway cruising @ 65mph?
