Best cheap/small sub/amp combo?

1791 Views 18 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Smooth E
I'm planning on getting a small 8' sub to go with my cheap alpine deck, alpine 6's and alpine 6x9's.

I would prefer high quality accurate bass to loud outrageous bass. A friend of mine says a brand called massive audio makes really good stuff for cheap. Sort of a no name brand where you get the best bang for your buck.

Anyone heard of that? What else would you recomend?

review is for the 10" but...

You can't go wrong with this one. Plus sounddomain is an authorized dealer so full warranty and they price match.
Oh and massive is junk.
I don't knwo what the hell is wrong with my brain. But i just realized that i made two almost identicle posts, in the same forum, at the same time.

I'm sorry about that.

And massive is crap? that's good to know, thanks guys. The person who told me is insane so i figured it was bunk.
that sub would be perfect. So that's a good quality/tight sub?

Remember i don't really care if people can hear it or not, i just want good quality sound.

Also the review link didn't work for me...

What about an amplifier to go with that. And do you think it would be worth buying another amp for my speakers? It's a cheap alpine HU. (bottom of the line from about 4 years ago).
What speakers do you have? If you have upgraded speakers you may want to look into a five channel amp. Make sure you have RCA outputs on that head unit.

Here's an amp that will power it nicely for under $100.

So i have to have rca outputs on the HU?

It's the bottom of the line alpine, but about 4 years old. I'll see if i can find a model number or something
I'm selling a 10" Precision Power Power Class Subwoofer in case you're interested.
How does that compare to the image dynamics ID10?
You don't need RCA outputs, but it will save you some money and install time. The PPI sub is similar to the ID, more geared to SPL than SQ. If I had a choice between a low end ID or a PPI power (low end) I'd take the PPI for both SQ and SPL uses.
What are you asking for the sub? I live in canada that's my issue.

Actually the ID's and IDQ's are more of a SQ sub but they can get loud.
I wonder what that woudl cost to ship to canada? I guess if it was labeled as a gift or whatever i could avoid duty fee's.
I'll try to figure out the weight and stuff tomorrow to see if I can get a shipping estimate.

I'm on Vancouver island in British columbia. It's fairly close to vancouver, if that helps at all.
