Hi, my name is Max im from Canada. I want to know, from you guys, the best year ever for a Toyota Highlander? We are a family of 5, we live in Quebec. (long, cold winters) I will eventually tow a medium size fishing boat. What do you recommend me? Thank you for your time!

Max.

IMHO, 2012 to 2013 2nd Gen Highlander. Reasons are:

* It is the largest of all Gens of Highlanders on interior cargo volume

* It also has all-wheel-drive all the time for AWD versions, as opposed to AWD on demand for 3rd and 4th Gen (I know, I know, that opinion generates feverish debate like dino oil versus synthetic oil, but it's simply MY opinion so anyone want to debate it in this thread GFY)

* Pretty much most of the bugs from earlier in the 2nd Gen, like the oil line hose issue and associated recall are fixed.

* As a rule, based on observation of all these Highlander forums, the 2nd Gen has proven to be the most reliable over time.
